Easy 8: 1:33:04
I skipped yesterday because I worked from 8am-10pm and my knee has been tender for a little while and I didn’t want to push it with 6 on the treadmill.
8 miles ran.
7 times I got spooked from noises in the woods.
6 bugs picked out of my mouth.
5 was the number of miles ran until I had to turn on my headlamp.
4 was the magic number when “easy” became boring.
3 times I ran by my car.
2 minutes was how long I paused for GU and water.
1 was the number of non insect-y creatures I acknowledged (myself).
Why was this so freaking hard??
I nailed my tempo yesterday, theoretically this should have been easy!!
Mile 1: 10:05
Mile 2: 10:10
Mile 3: 10:08
Mile 4: 10:10
Mile 5: 10:06
Huh. That would have been good if my target was 10:10.
Oh well. I did it and my body is amazing. Now to get to sleep so I can BIKE TO WORK TOMORROW!!!
My new baby! Isn’t she pretty??
Its a Trek FX 7.2
I pretty much had the best day ever yesterday.
(And I saw a bear on the way home!!)
Help. W6D3 Speedwork
Did I do this correctly? Or did I run double the amount I was supposed to?
The plan today called for 12X400, with a 400m recovery. I counted that as “1” being [400m run, 400m jog], “2” was another set of 800 meters (400m run, 400m jog). Did I do that right? Or was “1” just supposed to be the first 400m run, then “2” was supposed to be the 400m recovery?
8 miles (including the warm up and cool down miles) seem really really long. I’m so confused.
Either way, the 400m running sections were supposed to be 2:18 and HOT DAMN I nailed that!
And to further entice you to come visit…here is the weather I just ran in. I’ve got an open guest room…
Here goes nothing. My first speed work!
Please pray that I:
A: Hit the targets
B: Don’t…have GI issues
C: Don’t quit.
Is how long it took me to have a day off from all my jobs. I’m SO excited for tomorrow! I was planning on kayaking, but now I’m going kayaking in the BWCA!
Literally in my backyard, is the ”Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW or BWCA), is a 1,090,000-acre (4,400 km2) wilderness area within the Superior National Forest in northeastern Minnesota (USA) under the administration of the U.S. Forest Service. The BWCAW is renowned as a destination for both canoeing and fishing on its many lakes and is the most visited wilderness in the United States.” (Wikipedia)
SUPER stoked. People plan their whole year around trips up here. I live in a naturalist paradise.
Don’t you want to come visit yet??
Today in North Woods Creatures, we have a luna moth.
He’s pretty big, the body is about 2”, white and furry.
If you saw someone lifting a 40lb box over their head and putting it on a shelf, you might also assume it would be wise not to brush past them at that very moment in time. Potentially, what could happen is that the someone could lose their precarious balance with the 40lb box, causing it to smash a finger or 2 in between said box and shelf.
Guess which person is me in the scenario? :/
